Oh MY

Washi tape fun again.  Today we have a fun red black and grey card.  I used an embossing folder on the background to add a textured feature on the card.  Embossing folders add extra depth to your projects and can be used in several different ways.  I finished it off with a red ribbon and grey button with a red and white striped twine.

A Happy Hello

Today I'm sharing one of the cards we will be making in my next class at This N That in Chino Hills.  We will be making cards using washi tape and a few sentiment stamps from Fun Stampers Journey. This was my first time really using washi tape and I have to admit I'm now hooked.  It was really fun and I think it gave me a lot of options.  I hope you enjoy my card and if you would like to make this card and 3 others I will be sharing over the next few days let me know.

Whoo Hoo Monday

With my Fun Stampers group we Whoo Hoo on Monday about our business and what we have been working on.  It's a nice way to encourage each other and see what everyone has going on.  Today I am sharing a card I made for a challenge and will have it in my next class at This N That in Chino Hills.
I used the Hexagon spellbinder die and pierced the edges on the yellow stripe down the middle of the card.  This is a quick card that you can make really fact and put any sentiment on the banner in the middle.  If you like this card and would like to make more my next class is February 18th. Let me know if you would like to sign up. Hope to see you there.

Birthday Whoo Hoo

Today I'm sharing a birthday card since I have 2 Brithdays coming up on the 15th. My mom and my niece share the same birthday and it's right after Valentines Day. It's nice to always have a reminder.  Here is a card I made using the Birthday Whoo Hoo set.  I used my airbrush to color the background and blend the pink and purples together.  I then used my copic markers to color in my owls. I used come of the same colors on the owls with either a step darker or lighter to give them some variations in tones.  I added Journey Glaze to the eyes to make them pop a little.  A little twine, flowers and a banner finish it off.  Enjoy.

Valentine Trade

Enjoy Coffee is a fun set you can use all the time.  We all see everyone walking around with coffee or some kind of drink in there hands so it works for a wide range of people.  I signed up for a Valentine trade and this is my card I made.  I didn't want to use a traditional valentine set so I found this one that had the steam in the shape of a heart.  I worked backwards on this card.  I found these beautiful brown envelopes and then made a card to fit.  I added the stamp on the envelope and the card so our Postal workers can enjoy a little stamped fun too.  The steam was inked with Oatmeal Cookie first and then I rubbed the Hazelnut Blend pad on the one edge.  I like the subtle effect it gave to the steam.  I added some Journey Glaze and Sparkle Dust to finish it off.  I used the Surprise Sentiment on the outside because one of my friends was going to be getting my trade.  We were going to work on them together but I said I wasn't ready with my idea once I found out she was getting one.  I hope you like it.

Coffee Gift Tag

Today I am sharing a gift tag I made for my Bliss Roadies meeting.  The trade was to make some kind of gift tag.  I wanted to make my to also hold the gift.  I used the Enjoy Coffee stamp set to make a little gift card holder tag.  I stamped the cup 3 times and layered each layer to give it the true dimension of a coffee cup.  I also used a large round stylus to puff up the coffee sign so it would stand out and look like a real hanging sign.  The background is the Script stamp using the Lemon Grass ink on the Lemon Grass paper.  I think I should make several more of these just to have on hand since everyone loves a gift card.
I can't wait to see all the gift tags everyone else comes up with.  I always come home from our meetings full of new ideas and ready to create more things.  Enjoy and happy stamping.

Under the Sea

Today's card is a little ocean scene.  I really had fun playing with the Journey glaze and my airbrush for this card.  I airbrushed my background and then using the stamps from Under the Sea
I used some pictures of real coral to come up with come fun colors to use.  I also looked up some color fish to find out what colors I wanted them to be.  I used the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Nautical View set.  I love that it looks like its under water.  I then took my Journey Glaze and made my air bubbles for the fish.  I love the texture it added to the card.  I hope you enjoy.  I think this set has an endless coloring opportunities.  I hope you have some fun with it.

More Airbrushing

The first card I am sharing I used an old Art Impressions stamp I had of a lawn chair.  I thought it would be nice to practice using the Liquid Frisket on the small arms and legs of the chair and table. I stamped my chair in the center of my page and then painted it with the Liquid Frisket.  I set it aside to dry while I picked out what colors I wanted to use for my background.  I decided I wanted a nice green lawn and beautiful blue sky.  I used a post it across my page to make the horizon and worked on the grass first.  Once I got the green I desired I switched it around and did my sky.  I tacked down couple of cloud stencils and worked on my sky.  Once I was happy with the outcome I rubbed off the Liquid Frisket and used my copics to color in my stamped image. I added some tufts of grass and a sentiment to finish it off.  I hope you enjoy my scene.
