Happy Birthday

Here is a fun card for the next birthday you have coming up.  I made use of our Banner Party die set and our new enamel dots and washi tape.  I used the washi tape on whip cream cardstock to make it more durable and then ran it through my Journey Grand to die cut the banner.  I then used 2 other shades of Purple for the rest of the banners.  I wanted to show how you can use a simple stamp you  have that is probably just an accessory like a candle to make your own background.  I stamped the candle randomly around and did some second generation stamping to have various shades of the same color.  I then added my Happy Birthday saying and you have a quick Birthday card ready to share.

Today's card is having fun with a new technique and making use of our dies.
I used 2 stamp sets for this card that coordinate with each other.  The first stamp set is Yummy and Delicious.  It has the cupcake, frosting, and wrapper stamps. The second set is Yummy Wishes and I used the coordinating Sprinkles stamp for the cupcake frosting.  I will be showing you how to do the faux shaving cream technique in the class that I learned earlier this year when I attended Yummy and Delicious in Phoenix.  It's so easy and fun I know I will be using it alot.  You can also see I used some of our new paper line that goes with this stamp collection.  All of these will be available when our new catalog releases in June.  I really hope you can join us for this class.  Stay tuned for the next post with card number 3.

Candy Shop

Today I want to share one of the cards we will be making in June for my Fun Stampers Journey Card class at This n That Scrapbooking in Chino Hills.  The class is June 16th at 6:00 pm.
For this card I used one of our new releases in the new catalog called Candy Shop.  I really like this set because I think you can make so many things with it.
I used the gold silks to color the wrapper.  I always think of Willy Wonka when I see a golden wrapper on a chocolate bar.  The saying is just perfect isn't it?  Everything is better with Chocolate.  Over the next week I will be sharing the rest of the cards we will be making for June's class.  I hope you can join me June 16th.  To sign up you can call the store at (909)464-1108.  All you need to bring is your basic supply kit (adhesives, pop dots, scissors, etc), I will provide the rest to make all 4 cards.

May's KOTM sample

Today I'm sharing an ATC I made with May's KOTM. I thus this one was my absolute favorite of them all. I used my copics to color and added a photo pin with black journey twine to hike the flower. A rhinestone and a couple of mini flags finish it off. here is a close up.
You have a few more days to get your hands in this months kit. You can sign up online at www.funstampersjourney.con/Nikki
Just a quick note. Our website will be down while we switch over to the new catalog starting June first. We should be back up by June 5th. I will keep you posted plus I'll be posting picks from convention.

BBQ and Surfs up

Here are the final 2 cards for Tuesday nights class at This n That Scrapbooking in Chino Hills. I'll start off with my BBQ card. I love the summer because it means I make any reason to BBQ.
I always enjoy having friends and family over to enjoy some
Music and just visit. This is a great card for an invitation or for a card for any guy.  The next card incorporates my other favorite thing about summer the Beach.
For this card I used my day era to blend colors o. The side and then inked my stamp up with one color and dragged a contrasting color across the stamp before stamping it on to my cardstock. I jus dry love the effect it gives each of the surf boards. I really hope you can join us on Tuesday. for more information you can check out the class here

Masculine card class

Today I'm sharing two of the cards we will be making Tuesday night, May 19th at This n That in Chino Hills. I saw these ideas on Pinterest of making a card look like a shirt so I had to try it. The first card is a button up shirt and tie.
I made the tie and pocket out of our Black and White paper pack from Fun Stampers Journey. The second card I made to look similar to a sweater with a bow tie. Here I used the piercing elements from our long rectangles die set and our bow die.
The piercing elements look like stitching on the sweater. I hope you enjoyed these two cards and can join us to make these and 2 more on Tuesday. I will share the other 2 cards next time.

Feathery Peacock

Happy Mothers Day.  I hope you are having fun celebrating with Friends and Family.  This is the final card we will be coloring on Tuesday.  This one we will be having more Blues coming through.
The tail feathers are paisley's and it was fun to watercolor them.  I think the watercolor effect helps add movement to them.  I added some sequins among the tail feathers to add the sparkle.  I colored the flowers in Purple to give a little contrast to the Blues.  I hope you can join us to make these 3 cards on Tuesday. You can find out more info here

Peacock Swirls

Today I'm sharing the second card we will be making next Tuesday at This N That in Chino Hills.  We will be using Distress Markers to watercolor the Peacock Swirls stamps from Heartfelt Creations.  Its fun to mix colors together.  I used blue, green and yellow to make the turquoise look of a peacock.
We used the oval die with piercing elements and made sure to let the tail still be in tack.   I added a few sequins to finish it off.  The yellow card really helps pop the daisy's.  I liked the pattern paper and thought it added to the colors of the peacock.  I hope you can join us on Tuesday, May 12th to make this card.

Butterfly Medley

Today I'n sharing the first card we will be making Tuesday May 12th at This n That in Chino Hills.  Over the next few days I will share each of the 3 cards we will be making in the class.  We are using Distress markers to watercolor each of the three projects.  The butterflies are from Heartfelt Creations called Butterfly Medley and it has a matching die.  I used my square die with piercing elements from Fun Stampers Journey.  I love using pinks, oranges, and yellows together.  It's always just bright and cheery.

Recycled materials ATC

Today I'm sharing an ATC I made for a group this past Sunday at Custom Impressions. It was really a challenge for me because I couldn't decide what to use. I finally settled on using pages from an old encyclopedia. I die cut the flowers out and then airbrushed the petal tips with my copics. A brad for the center and a ribbon at the bottom finished it off.
It was really fun trying to think of what to use. I got so many ideas from the other trades and I can't wait to try some of them out. Look around your house and see what you can repurpose into your art work.
