Today I want to share one of the cards we will be making in September for the Fun Stampers Journey class at This N That.  I had fun using our pattern paper and making my own pattern with the musical notes from the Jukebox stamp.  I also had some fun with our Blending Brushes, blending solution and our inks.

I didn't have a re-inker so I just tapped my ink pad onto the smooth side of my acrylic block.  I then took my blending brushes, loaded up with blending solution, to pick up the ink and paint in to color my image.  I love the control I have with this.  A little bit goes a long way also and its very easy to control.  Any of these items can be purchased at my store

August KOTM

Today I am sharing my cards I made from this month Kit of the Month.  It was so much fun and full of different techniques.  This first card I got to see a sample of the new mini bow die.  Isn't this just a perfect size for a card.  I also got to see a sample of our steel rule tag die.  Finally I got to try out my coloring skills with our new blending brushes.
On the second card I had fun using my bloom tool to curl up the flowers from our new punches.  I used the large ball stylus to cause the flowers to cup and then layered them one on top of the other.  It adds a nice amount of dimension.

For the third card I played some more with my blending brushes.  I had fun adding some shadows to the image.  The control I had with the inks made this very easy to accomplish.

Finally with the last card we did paper piecing.  It's always so much fun to do that with images.  I just stamped the purse 5 times on 5 different types of paper.  I then cut each section out of a different color and layered them on the one stamped on the whip cream cardstock.  I also added some snips to the feather die to give it a more realistic feel.

The KOTM is so much fun and helps spark your imagination.  You can repeat any of these cards by switching the colors of cardstock or even the image.  See my prior post for a sneak peak of Septembers.  If you want that one sign up now.  They will start shipping at the beginning of the month.  Happy Stamping.

Party projects

Today I want to share the 2 projects we made at a party in San Diego. I had so much fun meeting a new group of fellow crafters. I shared the Journey and we made these 2 cards.
For this card I had fun with the punches and embossing folders. I also paper pieced the girl so she has s pretty Sweet Berry dress.
The second card was having fun with stamps and the matching die. I used the brushstroke stamp set to make the back ground. I finished it off with a little journey glaze, sparkle dust and some sequins to finish it off. We had so much fun making these cards and I can't wait to see what the create once they all get their supplies.

Beach time

This all the heat we have been experiencing you have to think of the Beach.  I really like our new summer set Surf's Up.  You know I had to stamp the polka dot bikini in Yellow, lol.  I then used my silk to paint in the umbrella.  I wanted to used the bloom paper to help guide my color pallet for this card.  I used the Citrus Cooler and Cool Pool Silk to splatter the card.  I also sponged the edges to add a little shadow to the circles.

Stay cool and enjoy the rest of your summer.

Today's card is one we made at our convention.  I had a request to make this card in my next class.  I love that people enjoy all the ideas we get to share.  This card is a great way to add color to an image without having to take the time to color specifically.  Using the new brushstroke stamp set we inked up the background to make a little pattern paper.  On a scrap piece we repeatedly stamped the yellow on whip cream cardstock.  You can then stamp your flower and you now have a pretty yellow sunflower.  Add a little sparkle cuts to the center of the flower and pop some bees to buzz around the card to add texture and movement.  The black thread can be used to show the flying pattern of your bees.  The pierced circle is a nice frame for the sunflower and the added circle allows the sentiment to stand out as well.  Finish the card off with a little cool pool and gold silks.  I just love this card.

If you want o make this card you can join us on Tuesday at This N That.  Just call the store to sign up at (909) 464-1108

Thank you

Today I am sharing the second card we will be making on August 18th.  We will learn how to make use of masking.  It's fun to mask off a section of your card to stamp an interesting frame around the isolated area.  It makes your cards unique and one of a kind.  I added some of our new journey thread and a butterfly.  I just love these dies.  A few pearls to make the body of the butterfly and you have a nice touch to your finished card.

You will find more information on my class page if you would like to sign up.  I hope to see you soon.

Daisy Card

Today's card is a simple card having fun with our daisy stamp set and matching dies.  I only used the stem stamp for my flowers.  I die cut 3 different flowers and folded them in half.  This gave me some dimension to my image.  I added a ribbon, some sequins and a sentiment to finish it off.  This will be one of the cards we will be making August 18th at This n That.  I hope you can join us.  You can find more information on my class page.  Enjoy,

Today I am sharing a card I made for my next class with the ScrappinLadyz in Whittier.  I had so much fun coloring her up.  It was fun to mask the image and add the rocks and fish jumping from the water around her.

I really enjoy coloring up these stamps.  They are so much fun and you can make some cute scenes to go with them.  I also have fun making the ocean water.  I wanted to make sure I had lots of movement so I made several waves.  I added white to highlight the waves.  I also had fun with the sunset behind her.  I think it really helped set her apart and make her shine.

Crazy Birds class

Today I want to share the cards we will be making for my next Distress inks class.  This one was fun because I just love these Crazy Bird Stamps.  I saw them and immediately thought they would go perfect with my smarty sayings.  They even have a matching die set so you can cut out the bird and also the wings, eyes and beaks.  Its a great way to add dimension to your birds.

For each bird you color up 2.  One to be the base bird and one to be the popped layers.

I sponged the edges of the top layer to add some color to the basic white cards.  I also did a little shadowing under each bird with my distress markers.

We will be making these cards on August 11th at This n That.  You can find out more details about my classed on my class page.  You can call the store to sign up at (909) 464-1108.  Hope you can join us for a little laugh and fun card making.

You will receive pdf's with instructions on completing the cards and four card kits all cut and ready for you to complete.  All you have to provide is the inks, and adhesives.   Once you are done you can take the ideas from the layouts and remake the cards with other colors or a different stamp set.  It's fun to take that idea and translate it with your other stamps. Here is a list of the inks you will need to complete the projects as shown.
