Ho Ho Ho

I was having more fun with my lockets. Here is another sample of my large locket.
This one I did in some non traditional colors. This next one I had fun with my small locket. I added some of the sparkle cuts so it looks like snow inside.
Now I want to share a collage of the various plates you can add to the lockets. First up are the small lockets with the various plates.
The last picture is of the large locket.
I'm really loving these and the inserts are so pretty. Adding the sparkle hoop to the top is making it much easier to swap out the locket and change how I want it decorated. I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas.

Christmas House

Today I want to share a project I designed for our 1st Bliss Roadies Christmas retreat.  I wanted to make something fun and festive so I decided to make a single Christmas house with a tree.  Once we put them all together we would have a village.
I started our with a house made from Rock Candy paper and a Denim Days roof and door.  I added vellum inside to cover the windows and then covered the roof.  To have the illusion of snow I layered modeling paste on the top and then sprinkled confetti and sparkle cuts.

Next I added some tinsel twine to the edge of the roof to appear like lights around the house.  I added a wreath to the door with red confetti as holly berries. Using the stamp set Banner Wishes I stamped Deck the Halls for a banner at the house peak. I used a mini brad as the doorknob and added a flameless tealight to light up the house.  To finish it off I place the house on a round mirror and added a tree for background.

Once everyone finished their houses we put them all together to make a Bliss Roadies Village around Lake Havasu. Rose made this beautiful collage of all the houses together.  What do you think?  There are lots more options if you want to make your own village. You will notice some of the trees are a different color.  You can used our Journey Splashes to color the trees and then tap them with modeling paste to give the illusion of snow.

Christmas locket

Today I want to share another twist with our journey girl locket collection. I have used out 1 1/4 circle punch to make a background for our large locket. It make ms it so easy to have fun with all those scraps of pattern paper you have. Today is used the black and white paper line with some sequins. Our special celebration and holiday elements are great for the lockets.
I really love the pop of red. I also included a picture of my cactus ornament I received from Richard during the last day of our leadership retreat. You still have time to order these for gifts. I have a few people on my list that are going to be very happy.

Chubby Stocking Garland

I was having fun over the Thanksgiving holiday and made this fun Garland for my desk at work. I used the Chubby stocking die set to make a cute embossed stocking.  This die set is great because it comes with the solid shape dies and 2 texture plates.  You can cut a stocking and leave it plain or emboss it to add the texture to each part.

Next I needed to punch a hole in each of my stockings to string them along on a ribbon. To do this I used our punch tool and mini mat. The punch tool is great because it comes with 3 tips and has storage at the base of the handle for the tips not being used.  I switched to the larges size because I knew I wanted to use my Lemon Grass Ribbon which is a wider ribbon.

I added a double bow and 3 bells to each end to add a finishing touch to my garland.

Here is the finished Garland hung up on my desk.

Cookie exchange

On Saturday I was able to participate in my first cookie exchange.  I tried a new recipe and it came out really good.  I made chocolate rolo cookies.  I then used the Advent boxes to package my goodies for each person.  I stamped the boxes with the Thread Sketch background stamp in Oatmeal Cookie ink and the Flower Layers stamp in Pomegranate Splash.

I cut a doily and layered the bread tag on top with the Flower Layers die cut out of Pomegranate Splash cardstock. The tag is cut from Oatmeal Cookie and the sponged with Pomegranate Splash ink. I used the big ball stylus on my bloom tool to add dimension to the flower and layered them all on top of each other. I then die cut the leaves and used the medium ball stylus to add veins to the leaves. I added a sparkle drop to the center and layered that on top of a couple of gold elements and the leaves to finish off the tag.

I then sponged the clothespins with pomegranate splash ink and then attached a Lemon Grass bow to the top.

I then placed my cookies into the box and closed the box up with the clothespin and added the tag to the front.

I really like how they turned out.  These boxes are so great I really think I will be using them alot.  They are just the right size for a little gift and can be decorated for the right occasion.

Watercolor Christmas

Today I want to show you the last card we will make in our Distress Ink class on December 8th at This N That Scrapbooking.  We are going to use a new series of stamps from Art Impressions to make watercolor scenes.  You take individual stamps and with a waterbased ink you stamp and make a watercolor scene.  We will make a Winter scene for the holidays with some snow covered Pine Trees and a bird.
We are using 2 different sizes of the snow covered pine trees.  The larger one goes in front with the smaller tree stamped twice in the background.  I added the red bird flying above the front tree to add some additional color to the image.  Using some confetti I make it appear as snowfalling.  I used some sparkle cuts for the snow on the trees. I added a single rhinestone to represent a shining star.  I hope you can join us for my last class of the year.  You can call the store to sign up at (909) 464-1108

Holiday Cheer

Today I wanted to share two of the cards we will be making on Tuesday the 8th at This N That is Chino Hills.  We will be having fun with our distress markers and our Art Impression stamps again.

I used the distress ink pads and markers to watercolor this image.  I just love the fun ladies from Art Impressions so we are going to have fun coloring this cheerful Christmas image.  We will also color an image for all the Ugly Christmas Sweater parties you could be invited to.
I had fun using the pocket die to make this card with another Art Impressions girl.  I popped her on the front with a wobble so she can dance around for some added fun.  I used modeling paste for the fur on her Santa Hat to add some added dimension.  You can write a fun note to a friend on the card in the middle pocket and add some candy canes in the back pocket.  I finished off the ribbon on the side with a couple of jingle bells to add to the festivities.  In a couple of days I will show you our last project.  We will still be using Art Impressions stamps but we will be using their watercolor stamping line.  I hope you can join us on December 8th to make these cards.  You can sign up by calling (909) 464-1108.
