No waste card

Today I want to share a card I made on the fly. I had a downline meeting with my Journey Coaches and we were working on various projects. One of my gals was working on her February bloom box, specifically the background technique using re-inkers on a block and taking the bottom of the bottle to make rings on the background. So after she was done she had a block with ink all over it. She didn't want to waste the ink so she asked what can we do? I took the block and tapped the bottom of the re-inker bottle all over to make a funky pattern in the remaining ink. I then took the block and stamped it directly onto a scrap piece of Whip Cream paper.
I added a few feather stamps in Hazelnut Blend and the "Your are awesome" banner. I layered the Whip Cream on Sweet Berry  and then added some twine around. I then popped it up on Hazelnut Blend cardstock  and then popped it up on Sweet Berry card base. A few rainbow drops and button to finish it off. It was fun  challenging myself to come up with a drain on the fly. Sometimes its nice to come up with simple cards for any occasion. Don't over think it and just go with what you have handy. I hope you enjoy this and will try it out yourself.

ATC Trade Gumball Machine

I'm sharing my ATC trade I made for February.
I had to start adding pop dots to the layers for assembly.
Next I added my scallop punch in black licorice. I just love red and black together.
I used the reinkers, blending brushes and the blending solution to color the gumball
machine. It's was fun to paint in all the gumballs.

I then added some journey glaze and sparkle dust to the machine. A little bling and a couple of sweet sayings finish it off nicely. The theme was Yummy and Delicious so I think this fits right in. Enjoy and Happy Stamping.

Happy Birthday

I have a lot of birthdays this month so I wanted to share one of the cards I made to give out. I had fun with the window pocket die from the spring mini catalog.
I also added some silks to spruce up the background. Using the blending solution, watercolor brushes and reinkers I was able to color in the gum balls on my machine. I used the Candy Shop stamp set to make the bubble gum. I then layered the glass top onto the cool pool machine.
I love the pastel color pallet which was also for a challenge this week. I thought it would work with this card so I used lemon grass, bubble gum, cool pool, and banana cream. I think they really compliment each other nicely. Fingers crossed my friend will like her card.
Happy Stamping

Happy Valentine's Day

I hope everyone is having a great Valentine's Day. I wanted to share a cute Valentine I made the other day.
I took some supplies to work so we could have a card making day. Everyone was welcome to come and make some Valentine's for their loved ones. It was so much fun seeing what everyone created. A few of my coworkers started talking about balloons and that led me to make this card. I hope you have a great day and remember to give cards to someone special all year long.

Beginning Copic class

This Saturday, February 13th we will be coloring these pretty stamps from Tonic Studios.
Learn how to blend your colors and complete these 4 cards. We will be working on our blending our reds for these pleated dresses.
We will also be having fun with several of their dies to decorate the finished cards.
I even used an embossing folder on this card to add some texture to the background.
This card I kept it simple to let the image shine. A little bling in the hair and that's all.
I think this is my favorite of all 4 cards. A touch of stickles to the ruffles really made a nice finish to the dress. I think it looks like a red carpet kind of dress. I hope you will join me Saturday from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm to color and make these 4 cards. Sign up at This n That in Chino Hills by calling 909-464-1108. Happy Stamping

February Distress Ink class

Today I want to share with you the cards we will be making on Tuesday at This N That in Chino Hills.
The first card we will make is using the Art Impressions Watercolor stamps.  We will stamp a single pot and fill it with foliage and some pretty purple flowers.  We will then do a light wash of yellow for the background and add a little grass growing on either side of the pot.

The second card we are going to use a masking technique to have 3 pots next to each other.
It's fun to use these stamps to make various scenes. Using the same pot as the first card we will stamp the first one in the center and then mask it to stamp 2 more behind.  We can then stamp 3 different colors of flowers to make a beautiful flower arrangement.
The last card we are using a Fun Stampers Journey ATS stamp.  I wanted to have fun using the wet on wet technique for the fish.  We will take our stamped fish and a clean water brush to fill it in with a light layer of plain water.  Then we will take a yellow, green, and blue and do a little wash to have the colors all blend together. Once we have the blend we like we will dry it with a heat tool to make sure the image doesn't have any wet spots.  Next we will dab some of each color to give the effect of scales on the fish.  Finally we will give a light blue wash around the fish to fill in the background.  I hope you can join us for class on Tuesday night watercoloring with our distress inks.  You can sign up by calling This N That at 909-464-1108.

February Planner Fun

Since February is the month of love I went with hearts as my theme. I colored up my Paris Girl with my copics. Once I had that done I just had to embellish at that point.
I wanted to use a lot of my embellishments because we have the plus one specials going on this month. The thread, washi tape, and heart clip are all part of the plus one special. You can find more info on my last post about the specials or go to my website.
For the inside of my planner pages I stenciled pink and red hearts randomly around the pages. They are light enough that I can still write my notes throughout the month.
I added the tiny heart stamp from banner party and the flourish is from the Through the Year set. I will add more things as I go through the month I'm sure but I am having fun setting up my planner for the month. I hope you all are having a great time with your planners. It's really a great time making something beautiful as well as functional.
