Happy Easter

I hope everyone is having a very Happy Easter. Today I wanted to share a card I made for my down line meeting yesterday. I also want to share my March planner layout. The first project is a card I copied from a demonstration at Be Amazing. Here is the card that was made at Be Amazing

I loved the use of the border die to break up the card. I also loved putting the vine back into place on the negative side of a die. It's always great when you see how to use the negative spaces from your dies. It really shows how diverse your dies can be. Don't limit yourself with just the obvious ways of using a die. So here is my take on the card. I pretty much just changed the colors. I just really loved this card.

For my planner this month I went with the Easter theme. I had fun decorating my dashboard for the month. I die cut eggs and made stencils to sponge Easter eggs on the monthly view while I stamped eggs for the week at a glance. Lets start with the dashboard. I had fun die cutting eggs out of my spring paper pack.
I then used one of my favorite ATS stamps Bunny Trail. I used my blender solutions and re-inkers to color in the flower and egg. On my monthly view page I used the die set favorite peeps to make some egg stencils for the different sizes. I then sponged various color eggs around the page. This comes out light enough so as I write my information on my dates it can still be easily read. I also wanted to mark the days of Be Amazing because I knew it would inspire creativity for me.
On my weekly pages I had fun with the egg stamps from the favorite peeps stamp set. I stamped off each one before stamping onto my pages to keep them very light. This allows me to write any information and appointments and to clearly be able to read them, but have a beautiful page to enjoy.
I really love having some fun with my planners and making then more then just a tool to keep me on track. I can now incorporate my creative side to my organization side. I love the blending of the two. I hope all of you planner peeps are staring to have fun with them and adding a little bit of your fun side with your serious side.

Lucky Me Promotion

We only have a few more days left to scoop up all those Green inks, paints, splashes, reinkers, cardstock and finally select dies.  We all love our dies with the matching piercing elements.  This is the perfect time to pick up those missing shapes you need to make your cards spectacular.

Here are a few cards I have made with the dies that are on sale.

You can see in the pictures the snapshot die, pocket die, and various shape dies with the matching piercing elements used.  See the list for all you options.

If you have any questions I would love to help.  I really enjoy all my dies and how they enhance my projects.

Another way to take advantage of this wonderful promotion is you can join the Journey.

We have so much fun sharing all our creative ideas and we love having our Journey family grow.  We have so many things at our disposal to be successful and to become whatever we want with this business.  We get a wonderful starter kit that includes a Journey Grand Die Cutting machine.
You can start your business and grow from there.  You have some stamps, inks, catalogs and a die to show some of what we have to offer. I also like to help my coaches make color charts to have a sample of all the colors we have of cardstock, ink splashes and silks.  We also have a wonderful convention once a year in Arizona. This month if you sign up to become a coach you get $100.00 towards your convention registration.  Convention is in June and will be an amazing time.  We get to be the first to see the new catalog, see lots of demos on new products, and we always get lots of fun new goodies to create with. I think the best thing is the connections you make with fellow coaches from all across the United States.  It is so much fun to just see a bunch of people who love the same things you do. You can find more information about becoming a coach and the Lucky Me promotion on my website.
I would also love to answer any questions you have or just find a time to share the products and create something fun.  I love to have parties and have people get the chance to create something with our products.  If you would like to book a party or learn more about the Journey you can reach me at

ATC Swap Texture theme

This weekend I had fun working on an ATC swap with a texture theme. I got out my Journey Media goodies and started playing. First I mixed some Journey splashes with a few dollops of modeling paste.
This let me have some pink and orange paste for my card. I them used my Ring Stacks stencil and spread my sweet berry modeling paste mixture on the bottom of the ATC.
I then added the citrus cooler modeling paste mixture to the top of my card.
I set those aside to dry while I now worked on my butterflies. I took my brayed and added citrus cooler and sweet berry to a piece of whip cream cardstock. Once I was happy with the blend of the 2 colors I started die cutting my butterfly out of it.
I cut a second solid butterfly in black licorice to layer underneath. Using pop dots I attached black twine and the butterfly to the top of my ATC.
Using the banner wishes stamp set with sweet berry ink I stamped Happy Day and fussy cut it out. The finishing touches were some Journey glaze, rhinestones, and some rainbow dots.
I really like how it came out. Have you tried adding inks to your modeling paste to expand your color pallet?  Give it a try, you might find that you prefer the smooth mixture of the modeling paste and control of the color coverage over spraying your whole project after to add color.

FSJ Easter card class

Today I want to share the fun projects we will be making in Tuesday, March 15th at This N That Scrapbooking. We will make 3 cards and an adorable Easter basket from a new steel rule die in our spring mini catalog.
The first card is using our spring flower set.
I used our reinkers and blending solution to color and layered that inane eith our oval dies. I love the piercing elements we have for so many of our basic shapes. I then add some some of our beautiful spring paper and bubble gum ribbon on the side. A couple of pearls finish it off nicely.
The second card we will make is with one of our inspirational sets.
I like this set because you can build your wreath with various colors making it look different each time. I then added some of our bloom sequins to give it a nice spring feeling. The sweat pear ribbon helped to give a little pop in the center of the card.
The last card is with a fun Easter ATS stamp.
I had fun with this one using our new border basic dies along with the oval dies. The bunny even has his own die so you do t have to fussy cut him out. I really enjoy that the inside of his ears are separate so you can make them any color you want. I stamped the tie on citrus cooler to paper piece it on. So versatile. The patter paper is another piece for our spring 6x6 pad. I just love all the vibrant colors in this set. A couple of rhinestones and ribbon finish it off nicely.
The last project if using our new Easter Basket steel rule die and the coordinating accessory die.
This is so fun that it really doesn't need anything added to it. I layered bubble gum on top of watermelon fusion cardstock to get the dual color. I the attached the handle with some yellow gingham ribbon to finish off the sides. The only thing missing is the fun treats we will be adding in class. I hope to see you there. To sign up call the store at (909)464-1108. If you would like to purchase any of the items used to make these great projects you can contact me or go right to my website to shop for these any many other great items at

Distress Ink Easter Cards

Today I have a distress inks class and we will be making 3 cards.
The stamps are from Stampendous. It also has a matching die set to go with it. This is really great if you want to layer you images. We will just be using the stamps tonight.
For this card I used a milk jug stamp I had and masked off the jug to have the carrots flowing out of the top. I also had one in front laying on its side. It's fun to mask images and make new scenes with your stamps.
We did some more making with this one and layered eggs behind the bunny.
This last one I just loved this bunny and let him stand on his own. I added some shadows by flicking more ink in the edges to also give the fur texture. I can't wait to mail these cards out to my friends.

Bloom Girl Hope

Today I want to share the card we will be coloring on Saturday with the ScrapinnLadyz.
I really had a good time color up this Bloom Girl by Jaime Dougherty called Hope. I liked working with different skin tones then I usually use.  The colors allowed for great shadows and depth on this image.  I especially enjoyed coloring the curly hair.  It's so easy to add texture to curly hair and get it to look real.  Tropical colors for the flowers in her hair and the dress she is wearing really pop against her skin tone.  If you would like to join us you can sign up on  Search for ScrappinLadyz and then look for Copic Coloring class with Nikki Turnour.  You will see this Copic class listed among many others Cheryl offers.  This is a really nice group of ladies that I get together with every other month to teach  new techniques and practice coloring with our Copic markers.  You can find a complete list of copic markers we will be using on my classes tab.  For the background I used a Fun Stampers Journey embossing folder, the doily die and a stamp from the Paris Girl stamp set.  A few additional embellishments help finish off the card.  I hope you can join us for this great project on Saturday.
