Valentine Trading coin

Today I want to share a trade project I made.  I signed up for a trading coin swap.  I had never tried this so I was excited to see what I could do.  I started with my gel press and sticker paper.  I used my Sweet Cane, Sweet Pink, Sour Watermelon and Rich Cherry Sugar Cubes.  I wanted the square shaped background so I didn't use a brayer to blend the colors.  I then used my background stamp, Many Hearts to pull ink off the gell press and stamp on to my print.

I then used my Scan and cut to  cut circles in the sticker paper and a circle a 1.4 inch larger in Rich Cherry Sugar Stock to cover the base of my chipboard coin. I then used the digital file Sweet Love to size my bear to fit on the coin.  I then duplicated it on a sheet to make 10 coins. The bears I colored with my copic markers and cut out with my Scan N Cut.  I layered the 2 circles and then added some valentine washi tape I had and some heart confetti to add to my theme.  I then popped my mama and baby bear on the coin.  I finished off the coins with a red sharpie to color the edges of my chipboard.

For my first coin swap I really had fun making them.  It was a challenge to edit plans once you get going on the coin.  You realize real quick that there isn't a lot of space and you have to really pick and choose what you want to include and make it work.  I made sure my strip of washi on the bottom would all show the word love once I added my bear.  I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day.

Today I want to share 2 cards I made with an RGStudio360 digital image.

This is Wee Doggie and reminded me of my little guy Beegley.

So I colored the images with my copics and made these 2 cards.  Although Beegley is 15 now and a little more grey in the face he did have a lot of brown when he was younger. These were fun to make.  Do you have a furry friend at home?  Its always such a joy to come home and have a welcoming committee there to greet me.  Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of our hop.

Be sure to hop over to Kim next.

Bluebirds and blog hop winner

Hi Everyone,

First let me say thank you to all who did our blog hop this past weekend.  So many great project shares and inspiration.  I hope you found something exciting to try yourself.  So I have compiled all the comments on my blog and the winner is Liz Mullen.  Thanks so much for following my blog and posting a comment.  Please send me an email to StampinNikki@aol.com with your address so I can send you your prize.  Here is the stamp I will be sending to you.

Now let me share with you 2 cards I did using my Prisma color pencils for class this week.  I used 2 stamps from Unity Stamps that had birds.  I wanted to color some bluebirds.
For the first card I wanted to just use the pencils themselves to blend the colors with each other.  By building layers and adding pressure I liked the texture and blending I achieved in the 2 birds.  The second card I used a blending stump and odorless mineral spirits to blend my pencils.  I colored the edge of the birds and then used the stump to pull the color towards the area I wanted highlighted.  We were able to work on both techniques with these 2 cards.

Have a great weekend and congratulations again to Liz Mullen for winning my blog hop drawing.  Don't forget to send me an email with your address so I can get the stamp set mailed to you.

For my project I'm sharing an art journal I started.

I got this journal at the Festival of Books last year and am excited to get to use it.  I used the Beautiful Rose stamp by RGStudio360 to decorate my page.  My first page is my one word for the year and I chose Connect.

I started using distress paints to color the background.  I then embossed the Rose in Gold.  I then used the paints to color in my rose and add my word.  This year I want to try and connect more with everyone.  I get so busy with work and other things that I feel like I have missed out on staying connected to so many of my friends.  I want to send out more of my cards just to say hi and reconnect with many of my friends.  I hope you enjoyed my project.  Your almost done with the hop so be sure to
 hop over to Kim

Today I wanted to share some cards I made with 2 stamp sets I got from Kindred Stamps.  I used Yo Ho and Never Grow Up as seen below.  I focused on Peter Pan for my Disney Theme. So let's go to Neverland.

BloggerImage BloggerImage

I started by stamping the images from Never Grow Up, which I think should be everyone's personal motto in life.  I colored them with my copic markers and then cut them out on my Brother Scan and Cut.  I then had fun with my Classic Disney Cricut Cartridge and cut out some matching images from the movie to build the background for my characters.  I started with Tinkerbell and a little Pixie dust.

Then you have to have fun with Peter Pan and Captain Hook.  I added Skull Island to the card and the Pirate flag for Captain Hook as a backdrop for my characters.  Lastly I wanted to end with Peter Pan and Wendy.

On the last card I used Vellum and layered it to give the look of water.  I sponged color and added glaze to give the water movement.  I hope these help you to reminisce about your childhood and don't forget to Think Happy Thoughts. I hope your having fun with all the Disney themed projects so far and now it's time to continue on to our next share.

Distress oxide Valentine’s cards

Today I want to share cards I made for a Valentine’s card class. I’m using Distress oxide inks, gel press and RGSTUDIO360 stamps. I started by adding the ink to my gel press. I wanted a block look so I didn’t try to blend the colors. I spritzed with water and then pulled my initial print with vellum paper. I then took white cardstock, spritzed the gel press again and pulled a second print. I liked to light spotted print it gives.
  BloggerImage BloggerImage
I then cut the vellum page down to fit on the front of my card. I layered the vellum on white cardstock and then embossed hearts on the top. I added some twine and a sentiment using the following stamp sets: You Me and Yay Greetings
BloggerImage BloggerImage
The last 2 cards we’re using thesecond print pulled on cardstock. I embossed with gold and used choose love and share the love stamp sets. I love how the gold pops on the background I made. I would love to show you and your friends how to make these cards. Reach out if your interested in hosting a class with some friends. You can purchase the stamps at RGStudio360.com. Hi Everyone,
I hope you have enjoyed the blog hop so far.  I am sharing some tags I have made for those special gifts this season.  I used  2 digital downloads from RGStudio360, Boho Critters  and Stocking Stuffer.

BloggerImage

The first 2 tags I did are non traditional colors.  I did blue and brown with my little bear and purple and pink with my little fox.  I like to make fun tags for my special gifts.  I started with stamping the background with white ink using my Dot Dot Stamp  I then colored the images with my copic markers.
BloggerImage   BloggerImage

I added washi tape to the background of the tag and then layered the images, popping up the flowers.  I then added some fun ribbons to the top and finished it off with bells and a snowflake button.

The last tag is using traditional colors.  I just loved the cute reindeer and had to go with the traditional red and green on this one.  I liked the flowers on the reindeer's head as well.  I again added some washi to the background and layered the images on the tag.  I then added ribbons and this time used some red and green star buttons along with bells.  These will add a little something special for the gifts I will be giving this year.

I hope you enjoyed my share for the Stocking Were Hung Blog Hop. You have now completed the blog hop.  If you missed any of the stops they are all listed below.
